Privacy Policy

Effective October 24, 2026. Last updated October 24, 2026.

This policy explains what the Folduo Android app (package app.folduo) does with your information. The short version: Folduo does not collect, send or sell your personal information. Everything stays on your phone.

Folduo is made by Arabel Ventures, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). If you have questions, see Contact us.

1. Summary

Question Answer
Does Folduo collect personal information? No.
Does Folduo have internet access? No. The app does not ask Android for internet permission, so it cannot send anything over the internet.
Does Folduo use analytics, crash reporting or ads? No. None are built in.
Do I need an account? No. There are no accounts and no cloud sync.
Does Folduo sell or share my data? No.
What does the accessibility service see? Where buttons and other items are on the screen and whether they can be tapped. Not words, messages, passwords or what you type. It saves no screenshots.
Does the keyboard record what I type? No. It sends each key straight to the app you are typing in. It remembers only your recently used emoji.
How do I delete my data? Uninstall Folduo, or clear its storage in Android Settings.

2. Information Folduo does not collect

Folduo does not collect, and we never receive:

Google Play itself may show us anonymous crash and performance statistics (Android Vitals) that Google collects for every app. Folduo adds nothing to them.

Because Folduo has no internet permission, it has no way to send information to us or to anyone else.

3. Information that stays on your phone

To work, Folduo keeps a small amount of information on your phone only, in the app's private storage. Other apps cannot read it, and we never see it.

What Why
Your settings, profiles and window layouts So Folduo works the way you set it up.
Recently used emoji So the keyboard can show them first.
Which keyboard you normally use So Folduo can switch back to it when you fold the phone.
Your answer to the accessibility disclosure (agreed, declined, which version, when it was last shown) So Folduo does not ask you again without a reason, and asks again if the disclosure changes.
Whether you have Folduo Pro So Pro features unlock.
A diagnostic log (about 2 MB at most; older entries are deleted automatically) So problems such as a crash or a disappearing overlay can be understood. See section 6.

Android's backup feature is turned off for Folduo, so this information is not copied to your Google account backup.

4. The accessibility service

Folduo uses Android's AccessibilityService so its on-screen pads and pointer can tap, long-press and scroll, move app windows, go Back, Home or to Recents, and open notifications or quick settings. Folduo is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities; it uses the service to control a large foldable screen with two thumbs.

What it sees: where buttons and other items are on the screen, whether they can be tapped or take focus, and which app and window they belong to. It also reads the list and position of open windows so it can arrange apps side by side. On Android 14 and later, for some apps you place in a layout, it asks Android for a capture of that one app's window and reads only the top few rows, reduced to a single colour, so it can paint the strip above the app to match.

What it does not see or do:

Folduo skips password fields and any items or screens that apps mark as sensitive: it will not tap or act on them. Some apps, for example banking apps, also block screen capture, and Folduo never captures those.

Your choice: Before the service is turned on, Folduo shows a screen explaining all of this and asks you to tap Agree or No thanks. You can turn the service off at any time in Settings > Accessibility > Folduo. Android may also show its own notice that Folduo can see your screen. That notice is normal.

5. The Folduo keyboard

Folduo includes an optional on-screen keyboard (an Android "input method"). Android shows a general warning for every keyboard that it "may be able to collect all the text you type". For Folduo:

6. The diagnostic log

Folduo writes a technical log on your phone, so that problems can be traced. It records things like when the app starts and stops, which version is running, crash details, screen and keyboard sizes, and whether you answered the accessibility disclosure. It may also contain technical details such as the names of apps (package names) Folduo worked with and the position of items on screen. It is not designed to contain the text you type or read.

The log never leaves your phone by itself. It is shared only if you open Help > Diagnostics and tap Share, and then choose where to send it (for example, an email to us). If you send it to us, we use it only to fix the problem you reported, and we delete it when we no longer need it for that, and in any case within 12 months.

Uninstalling Folduo or clearing its storage deletes the log.

7. Other apps Folduo works with

8. Payments (Folduo Pro)

Folduo Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the whole payment. We do not receive your card details or payment information. Google Play tells Folduo on your phone whether you own Pro.

Google's handling of your purchase is covered by Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google may give us sales reports (for example order numbers, country and amounts), which we use only for accounting, tax and refund handling, as required by law.

9. Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal information. We have none to share. The only way information leaves your phone is if you choose to send it to us (for example, an email or a shared diagnostic log).

10. Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write or attach. We use it only to reply and to help you. We keep support emails for up to 24 months after the conversation ends, unless the law requires us to keep them longer, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner. Our email is provided by Migadu (Migadu-Mail GmbH, Switzerland), so messages are stored on its servers.

11. Children

Folduo is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Since Folduo collects no personal information, it collects none from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

Canada. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Quebec, Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. The person responsible for privacy is our Privacy Officer, reachable at the contact details below. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (https://www.priv.gc.ca) or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information (https://www.cai.gouv.qc.ca).

European Union, EEA and United Kingdom. If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict and object to the use of your personal information, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering you when we process a support email.

California and other US states. We do not sell or share personal information, and do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling. You have the right to know, delete and correct the personal information we hold, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights.

We answer requests within 30 days. We may need to confirm that a request comes from you, for example by replying to the same email address.

14. Security

Folduo keeps its information in Android's private app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because Folduo does not send data over the internet, there is no data "in transit" from the app to protect. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so keep your phone's screen lock on.

15. This website

This section covers folduo.app. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site. Its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you visit. We do not receive or keep visitor logs.

16. Changes to this policy

If we change how Folduo handles information, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, for example if Folduo ever needs internet access, we will tell you in the app or in the Google Play release notes before the change takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires it. If the accessibility disclosure changes, Folduo will ask you again before using the service.
